Field Day

The largest event hosted by Big Thunder Amatuer Radio Club is the annual Field Day.  Field day is held in conjunction with the ARRL's field day events on the fourth full weekend in June.  Field day is an opportunity for ham radio clubs to test their abilities to setup operating radio stations in the outdoors; this is a test run for a setup that might be used in the case of natural disasters such as tornados, hurricanes, and the like.

BTARC is hosting their 2024 Field Day on June 22nd at noon through June 23rd at noon.  Please come out to Spring Township Building, 3150 Shattuck Rd, Belvidere, IL to see how ham radio works, and make a few contacts across the country.
